thonking about mastodon client design
i think perhaps a good model for a mastodon client would be IRC-bouncer–style. so you would have one component of the client sitting on a server collecting posts, & then it relays those the frontend part of the client when that connects to it. if you designed it right you could avoid ever missing posts.
obviously this wouldn't be an accessible or desirable design for everyone.

while i'm designing a fantasy mastodon client i might as well put older posts at the top and the newest posts at the bottom. that's the way that makes sense dammit
