It's amazing the impact a simple, short piece of writing can have on your life.

The Conscience of a Hacker is something I read when I was young. It always stuck in the back of my mind. It will be 35 years old in a few short months.

It was written long before I was born but the importance of it in relation to my ideas about software and technology can't be understated.

Somehow it perfectly captured my mindset at the time. My frustrations with life, school, being treated poorly by authority figures.

I don't know The Mentor, and I never will, but I just want to say thanks.
